Private Pilot License
Learning to fly, whether for enjoyment, dream fulfillment, or employment, is a rewarding, exciting, and emotional experience that cannot be explained. Whether you are an aspiring airline pilot or just seeking the thrill of flying, everyone's flying journey begins here: the Private Pilot License (pictured to the left). It is the most common pilot's license in the U.S. and allows individuals to take leisure trips to just about any destination without the aid of a flight instructor.

Basic Requirements:

• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.

• Must be at least 17 years old (16 years old in order to solo)

• Obtain a medical certificate from an authorized medical examiner

• Must log a minimum of 40 hours of flight

*10 hours must be "solo" hours (flying without an instructor)

Estimated Cost:

The average flight time for a new private pilot is about 65 hours, even though the minimum is 40 hours. Our estimates provide costs for 40, 60, and 80 hours to give you a good idea of what training will cost. Also, keep in mind that training is paid as you go, meaning that it is not necessary to pay for everything all at once.

The following costs are standard for every student at every school:

• Medical/Student Pilot Certificate~ $60
• Ground School~ $300
• Books & Materials~ $100

Training estimates (airplane and instructor):

• 40 hours~ $5,600
• 60 hours~ $8,400
• 80 hours~ $10,900

Estimates are for training in a Cessna 152 airplane. These estimates include instructor time.

Getting your private pilot certificate is a long and joyous journey and it couldn't be easier than with our comprehensive training program. Unlike at other flight schools, our curriculum is tailored to fit your schedule and your needs. Through out the course of training,  there will  be an equal  balance of ground  and  flight  training.  Flight  training consists of actual flying, such as practicing takeoffs, landings, and various flight maneuvers, whereas ground training consists of learning things in the classroom, like aerodynamics, airplane systems, weather theory, and regulations.

"I was fortunate enough to complete my Private rating in only 41 hours. Miguel and his training system was a large part of why I was able to complete my training so quickly."

"I had 4 instructors before Miguel; they were good instructors but not very personable. Flying with them seemed very intense and judgmental with very little improvement lesson to lesson. Once I became Miguel’s student I started advancing through my lessons like never before and at the same time, at a comfortable pace!
