10-Day IFR
You have the option of flying various airplanes, the most common being the Cessna 152 and the Cessna 172 (G1000). FTD's are available for all types of airplanes. If you have your own airplane, we can easily arrange to fly out of your home airport, but please ensure that your airplane is IFR equipped and maintained prior to training. After the 10 days, we guarantee you will feel confident flying IFR and taking the checkride.
Prerequisites:
Private Pilot License
20 hours Cross-Country PIC (we will fly approximately 30 hours of cross country)
Aeronautical Knowledge Exam (Instrument-Airplane) Passed*
*If not completed, prepare to add an additional day to your training
Basic 10-Day Instrument Rating Syllabus:
Day 1- Introduction to instrument flying and navigation
Day 2- Introduction to holding patterns and partial panel
Day 3- Review + Introduction to DME Arcs and Course Reversals
Day 4- Review
Day 5- Ground School (flight training as necessary)
Day 6- Introduction to non-precision approaches
Day 7- Review + Ground
Day 8- Introduction to precision approaches
Day 9- Review + long cross country flight
Day 10- Review flight and ground
~Due to a high volume of students, scheduling may take 3-4 weeks~
